Technological Competencies

Digital Convergence

Development of innovative solutions in products and processes in the digital environment, through the convergence of people, ideas, technologies, markets and business models. The CERTI Foundation’s digital convergence operations involve the areas of software, applications, embedded systems, digital television, telecommunications, Internet, networks, mobile communication, energy, smart solutions, healthcare, digital inclusion, educational technologies and strategic consulting.

CERTI has experience in the process of ideation, development, prototyping, evaluation and production of integrated technological solutions, combining characteristics such as ergonomics, usability and low cost. The multidisciplinary staff dedicated to the generation of new solutions focused on users, creating the conditions to generate feedback about prototypes before launching a product in the market, allowing a retro-feeding of information for the continuous evolution of concepts.

Design Thinking for solutions

CERTI inserts Design Thinking in the process of ideation and generation of new solutions. This approach helps to resolve problems in an innovative manner that is focused on users, because it encourages designers to put themselves in the place of the final users and seeks to involve them in the creation process. CERTI staff has strong experience in collaborative and multidisciplinary work – another important characteristic of Design Thinking, and gives priority to the integration of knowledge in fields such as: technology, engineering, business, design, education and psychology.

Conceptual prototypes and field tests

CERTI conducts prototyping of digital products (hardware and software) of low and high fidelity, involving various techniques of ideation, development and evaluation. Within a user-centered approach, this prototyping process involves users in development through research and field tests, which allows determining if the solution is meeting the real needs of the target public.

Learning, immersion and ludic environments

This involves the preparation of innovative learning environments for hands-on activities, experimentation, digital creation and immersion and ludic experiences. These are designed with a focus on the characteristics of the users, considering architecture, furniture selection and digital and analog tools. They can be personalized to serve different contexts and demands such as: schools, universities, laboratories, auditoriums, corporate environments and others.

Development of situation rooms

CERTI develops rooms equipped with large screens and software that capture and present real-time information from various devices, sensors, machines or equipment. Analytical applications allied to data visualization techniques support management and decision making processes in various contexts, such as pilot operations for the evaluation of new products, solutions for smart cities, electronic government, public safety, equipment monitoring and others.

CERTI has a specialized and highly qualified team for the conception, development and implementation of software and applications for various segments. Its competencies range from the development of solutions for the final user and companies, involving applications of communication, information, content, simulation, digital media, mobile devices, digital television, user interface, collaboration and education. CERTI’s software development process is based on the application of agile development methodologies, user-centered design and quality guarantee through automated tests. Some examples of applications are:

  • Web solutions
  • Desktop solutions
  • Solutions for mobile devices
  • Electronic payment solutions
  • Solutions for Digital TV
  • Solutions for software security
  • Automated software code tests
  • Development of solutions based on open platforms
  • Development of communication solutions
  • Competitive intelligence and knowledge management solutions
  • Analysis and development of interfaces and interactivity with the user

CERTI develops embedded systems based on a set of software and hardware assets that allow the reutilization of concepts, applications and interfaces for convergent products. This condition, allied to the use of innovative methodologies and agile development approaches, guarantees fast and flexible results for clients in different segments. Through its embedded systems engineering and development team, CERTI implements new functionalities and innovations in electronic products, allied to the improvement of the project for the reduction of size, need for computer resources and product cost.

  • API
  • Middleware
  • Automated testing of software code
  • Development solutions based on open platforms
  • Connectivity solutions

CERTI is dedicated to the development of solutions based on one of the main trends in Digital Convergence: the Internet of Things, which consists in connecting equipment and machines to each other, with systems and with the Internet. The purpose of connecting devices, sensors, domestic appliances, cameras and other elements is to facilitate and improve the life of people and organizations. The CERTI Foundation staff develops a set of intelligent solutions to expand the connectivity of these “things” and provide data so that integrated systems control a series of actions, which range from remotely turning on a light to monitoring people’s health in real time. Some examples of the applications are:

  • Collaborative environments in cloud computing
  • Neural networks, artificial intelligence and Big Data
  • Specialist systems
  • Systems of monitoring of people, animals, vehicles and objects
  • Electronic asset security
  • Remote access and control of apparatus
