Sinapse da Inovação

The great challenge of the Innovation Synapse Program is to transform good ideas and knowledge generated in the academic environment into companies, products or innovative processes that are viable in the market. To do so, an interactive portal was developed to promote the permanent discussion of innovative ideas generated in theses, dissertations and scientific and technological studies realized by students, professors and other professionals in different economic sectors. Future entrepreneurs were mobilized at presentations offered throughout Santa Catarina State. In 2009, the program had 1,562 registered proponents and 1,174 registered proposals. Sixty final proposals were chosen, which received an average of R$50.000 totaling R$3 million. The resources, financed by FINEP and FAPESC, will be used to make the proposals viable, generating new companies, jobs and income.
